Adetomiwa Emmanuel Adesokan

Topic: Does Resource Dependency Undermine Environmental Sustainability? Evidence from Resource-Intensive and Non-Resource-Intensive West African Economies

Adetomiwa Emmanuel Adesokan is a PhD student in Economics at the University of Nevada, Reno USA. His work explores environmental economics, macroeconomic issues, and the growing role of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence in modern economies. He completed his MSc in Economics at the University of Ibadan and his BSc in Economics at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. Adetomiwa has taught at Dominican University and served as a graduate assistant in both Nigeria and the United States. He combines research with teaching, professional service, and community mentorship, reflecting his commitment to scholarship that addresses real-world economic and social challenges.

Achievements

I was awarded a full scholarship by the University of Nevada, Reno, to pursue my Ph.D. in Economics, a recognition of my academic excellence and research potential. I have published several peer-reviewed articles in international journals on topics linking economics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Beyond research, I have gained valuable teaching experience as a lecturer and graduate assistant, contributing to student learning across multiple economics courses.

Contribution to your Current Job Profile

As a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Economics at the University of Nevada, Reno, I contribute to teaching and academic support in Macroeconomics and Principles of Statistics. My role involves leading discussion sessions, assisting with course delivery, grading assignments, and providing one-on-one guidance to students. Through these responsibilities, I help strengthen students’ grasp of economic concepts, improve their quantitative and analytical skills, and create a supportive learning environment.
